So while the whole trip is about westward ho! today felt particularly that way.  After leaving Kansas City in the morning and stopping in Weston, we needed to make it to Cheyenne by evening by skirting past Iowa and getting through Nebraska.
Along the way, we had of course one more piece of kitsch to visit…the World's Largest Sod Plow.   Gothenburg also happened to have an old pony express stop which was cool but not really photo worthy (or a better way of saying it is that I failed to make the photos interesting hence their omission).  Anyway, the sod plow and surrounds were actually pretty cool.

And of course, a car needs gas covering 4 states in a day.  We stopped right about sunset and I took a few shots at the truck stop.  The light was great and I really glad the pictures turned out…as an aside, trucks and the truckers who drive them are fascinating.
During the drive, I found myself often thinking how great it would be to join their ranks…really they have the best office view – especially at sunrise and sunset depending on which way they are heading.  There is a great documentary on the topic (not the best editing job but super interesting nonetheless) – link here.
