We were greeted with incredible summer storms as we headed into Illinois…crazy wind and the kind of rain that weighs down the sky…I thought I had left the monsoon at home… I took this shot through the window (catching a refection of the interior)…
After we had made it through the worst of the storm we stopped to check the roof (where the bikes were) and I was able to snap a shot at the gas station…
We continued through Illinois – corn is definitely a distinguishing feature of the southwest Illinois landscape…
and the sky and clouds were absolutely amazing…the complete opposite of a few hours earlier…
But the best reward for making it though the storms…Americana Kitch….in the form of the World's Largest Catsup Bottle…totally awesome and worth the detour…
And of course…the sunset was so beautiful, I had to include two pictures.
