Spring in Ireland means lots of flowers – primroses, cowbells, tulips, and lots of daffodils. What better place to enjoy a beautiful spring day but at DD and Peter's farm in Ballateague – one of my most favorite places in the world. There are also a lot of babies about – ponies, calfs and of course my favorite – lambs. The one I am holding is a day old.
Peter has had this land for 50 years and built the home they both live in. Turf and wood are used in the stove for cooking. We had a wonderful Irish stew, mash and trifle for supper; ham, salad and apple tart for tea. We took a long stroll down the lane through their fields and did a few chores…even Joan got a ride in Peter's Massey Furgusen tractor.
